Antonio's Accent [Jul 24th] passions [rabbid_mouse] Why does Antonio have a southern accent? I know it's the same actor, but I don't remember him having an accent before. It could be just me. It annoyed me that a guy who is half Mexican and half Irish and grew up up North has a southern accent. I couldn't watch the rest of the show because of that. I really like the actor (he's very cute and a good actor), but you can tone down an accent to make it more neutral(I come from a family of Okie hicks but if need be we can soften the accent where it is hardly noticeable). Ok, will someone remind me why Antonio was on the Island where he met Sharidan? I thought he had amnesia and didn't know who he was. But that storyline was soo long ago. 5 comments|post comment

(I like to listen to Leathermouth, no lie, but the fact that it's Frank makes me giggle more than I probably otherwise would at that type of music) but Frank's quote at the end? Totally took me back to Gerard saying sometimes you just have to stick your hand down some dude's shirt, and like, imagining Frank and Gerard having debates about the relative sociological implications of such impulses. So much for time to myself... [Jul 23rd] dragonsangel68 [ mood | busy ] Hubby worked today and, with the kids at school, I was hoping to get a few hours to just do whatever I wanted to do. It wasn't to be *sigh* First thing this morning I had to go to the bank. I'd ordered new cards for our joint account over a week ago and they turned up both in my name *groans* So I sorted that out and made an appointment to see the bank manager tomorrow - I need to talk to her about how much borrowing power we have at the moment, so I know what to look for when house hunting (there's no point in falling in love with the perfect house if it's out of range). After that I cooked dinner and did laundry (currently drying in front of the heater) while I played email tag. Then I got a surprise in the mail - a cheque for $100 from HP (they had a discount by redemption offer going when I got my laptop). The surprises didn't stop there: I ordered a new desktop computer from Dell last week and that turned up around lunchtime! I've been putting it together and getting everything updated ever since! Now I just have to decide where it's going to live, get another desk, and another keyboard (the one it came with is horrible). Tonight I have a meeting at the high school for Mitch. Hopefully this one won't be as mindnumbing as the last *crosses fingers* It's just for the Vocational Training programs for next year, but there are many facets to them, so I hope they separate us, because the last thing I need to sit through is 'how to become a nurse' or 'a teacher's aide'. The weather has been abhorent! It started raining around ten o'clock and it hasn't stopped, and at times it's been coming down in sheets with nasty winds accompanying it. That'll teach them... [Jul 22nd] dragonsangel68 [ mood | chipper ] If I wasn’t so disgusted with the way my boys played on Saturday I might have felt sorry for them at training tonight… but I didn’t *cackles* First up they got an almighty spray (yelling at) from the coach, and then he sent them for ten laps around the entire oval (up and down the hills, up the slide in the playground and down the ladder) – it was painful to watch and they only had thirty minutes to complete their ten laps. After they did that they had twenty flat-start sprints to complete (starting from laying on their stomachs, facing the wrong way). We had to move training venues again, because the ferals came back on Sunday night and spread glass all over the oval again *smites them* At this stage we don’t know if we’ll be able to use it this week at all and we’re supposed to play there on Saturday! Anyway I was discussing this with our vice captain, who wasn’t training due to injury… VC: What will happen if they find out who did it? Me: They’ll be prosecuted. VC: Really? Me: Believe me, that’ll be the soft option, because if I got my hands on them, I’d bend them over and shove a fluorescent tube up their arse. VC: O.O Remind me not to get on your bad side. Me: *cackles* It’s not a nice place to be. I just adore this kid. We can actually have a joke without him taking it too far or letting it get out of hand, or we can have a serious conversation without him getting silly, and he’s very respectful of everyone who helps the team. Overall, I have a really good squad, and I have time for all of my boys, but there are some that are just easier to relate to than others :) 4 comments|post comment

City shopping! [Jul 21st] dragonsangel68 [ mood | blah ] I took my girls to the city for some shopping today. We didn’t really buy all that much, if you don’t count a trip to Borders – I left there about $100 poorer. Tori hadn’t been to Borders in the city before. She was so excited. Two stories of just books! It was like Christmas morning for her :) I don’t think poor Maddy is cut out for city shopping *pats her* She got tired quickly and didn’t really like all the crowds. Though when we were in Myers she felt right at home. Myers is a store similar to Harrods in London (I think everyone knows Harrods) and she fell in love with all the clothes in the little girls’ department. It’s a good thing I’m strong or she’d have come home with a large selection of formal party dresses that cost no less than $100 a piece. The kids go back to school tomorrow *yay* Well, a little *yay* I’ve really enjoyed these holidays, so I’m a little sad to have them coming to an end, but it will be good to get back into a routine again.
